Children's University Application Steps

1. Application Announcement and Notice

  • Children's University publishes announcements regarding application dates and program content on its website and social media accounts.
  • The age of the children and the required conditions for participation are specified.
  • 2. Filling Out the Application Form
    • Families fill out the application form online.
    • The application form asks for children's personal information, educational background, and which modules they wish to participate in.
    • 3. Submission of Application Documents
    • In addition to the application form, necessary documents (copy of ID, residence certificate, health report, etc.) are requested.
    • Documents can be submitted electronically or by mail.
    • 4. Evaluation of Applications
    • The education team reviews the applications and conducts eligibility assessments for each application.
    • Children who will participate are determined. (Especially if there is a limited quota, selection may be made based on the order of application or priority status.)
    • 5. Acceptance and Participation Confirmation
    • Children and families whose applications are accepted are informed via email or phone.
    • Participants confirm that they will attend the educational program.
    • 6. Payment of Tuition Fee (If Any)
    • In cases where the program is paid, participants are asked to make the payment by the due date.
    • The payment process can be done through the online system or via bank.
    • 7. Start and Introduction Meeting
    • An information meeting is organized for participants and their families at the beginning of the program.
    • Information is provided about the program content, educational process, and general rules.
    • 8. Start of the Educational Process
    • Children begin the educational process in accordance with the designated modules and activities.
    • Weekly, module-based activities and trainings are organized.
    • 9. Educational Process and Monitoring
    • Children's development, participation status, and performance are monitored at every stage of the educational process.
    • Parents are regularly informed.
    • 10. End of Education Evaluation and Feedback
    • When the education is completed, feedback is provided to participants and their families about the educational process.
    • Feedback received from parents and children is evaluated for the improvement of the program.
    • 11. Distribution of Certificate and Participation Document
    • Children who complete the educational process are given a participation document or certificate.
    • These documents are presented to families to document the education that contributes to the children's development.

Child University Education Module Application and Approval Process

1. Educator Application

  • The educator applies to the Central Directorate to apply for the Child University Education Module.
  • In the application, they provide information about which module(s) they will teach and the proposed training content.
  • 2. Review of the Application
    • The Central Directorate receives the application and initiates a meeting with the Education Coordinators for initial review.
    • The content, purpose, and general suitability of the training are evaluated.
    • 3. Meeting with Education Coordinators
    • The Education Coordinators (Prof. Dr. Kenan Demir and Prof. Dr. Derya Arslan Özer) hold a meeting with the applying instructor to discuss the details and methodology of the training program.
    • The basic objectives of the training program, the training concept, and its compatibility with the modules are examined.
    • There is also an exchange of views on Training Methods and evaluation processes.
    • 4. Approval of the Scientific Board
    • The Education Coordinators present the application to the Scientific Board after the meetings.
    • The Scientific Board evaluates the scientific applicability, innovative features, and pedagogical suitability of the applied training program.
    • As a result of the evaluation made by the Scientific Board for approval, the validity and content of the training program are approved.
    • 5. Consultation with Scientific Advisors
    • Scientific Advisors make corrections based on expert opinions for further development of the training module. 
    • They provide feedback on the training content and methodology. Additional adjustments may be requested from the educator.
    • 6. Approval of the Training Program
    • Necessary adjustments are made according to the feedback provided by the Scientific Board and Scientific Advisors, and it is submitted to the Central Directorate of Child University for final approval.
    • The training program is approved, and written notification is made to the educator.
    • 7. Steps After Application
    • After the training program is officially approved, the educator creates module-based weekly activities and a training calendar.
    • Training materials, evaluation methods, and feedback processes are determined.
    • Information is provided to participants.

Children's University Education Programs Basic Framework

1. Fundamental Objectives: The primary aim of the Children's University is to support the social, cultural, and scientific development of children. This program aims to provide an educational experience that encourages creative thinking and presents scientific knowledge in an entertaining and accessible way. By ensuring equality, inclusivity, and equal opportunities in education, reaching children from different socio-economic backgrounds and preparing them for their future academic and professional lives are also fundamental goals of this program.

 

2. Foundations of the Educational Concept: The educational concept of the Children's University is based on an interactive and innovative learning approach. Education is presented through engaging and creative methods that ensure active participation from children. This approach promotes multifaceted development by integrating different disciplines. Additionally, children experience a more effective educational experience by combining theory with practice through hands-on learning methods. The program also prioritizes the principles of inclusivity and accessibility in education.

 

3. Educational Modules: The educational program consists of four main modules:

  • Science and Technology Module: In this module, children conduct experiments, engage in robotics applications, and go on field trips to develop their scientific thinking skills. They gain problem-solving and critical thinking skills by practicing in different scientific fields such as chemistry, physics, and biology.
  • Art and Creativity Module: Children have the opportunity to express themselves in various art disciplines. Through activities such as painting, sculpture, music, performance, and digital design, they discover their creative talents. This module aims to make art and creative thinking tangible for children.
  • Social and Cultural Development Module: In this module, children participate in activities that will develop their social skills, introduce them to different cultures, and reinforce their ability to empathize.
